Proof of Engagement: A Flexible Blockchain Consensus Mechanism

Consensus mechanism plays an important role in blockchain. At present, mainstream consensus mechanisms include proof of work (PoW), stake (PoS), and delegated (DPoS). PoW, as is widely used virtual currency, results significant energy consumption; PoS DPoS are proposed to reduce waste caused by but their disadvantage that they tend create Matthew Effect (ME): “the rich get richer.” In order balance the discourse power new nodes elder ones, this paper proposes a flexible called engagement (PoE), based on activity contribution network nodes. We analyze incentive compatibility PoE from perspective design. our simulation experiments, we tested profit changes under PoS, PoE. The illustrate it easier for accumulate profits than PoW or so negative impacts ME.
